Community Safety Partnerships, or Crime Reduction and Disorder Partnerships (CRDPs), are a combination of police, local authorities, businesses and other organisations who are working together to tackle crime. There is a community safety partnership in every borough in London.

The Government Office for London (GOL) represents central government in London and ensures that national policies are being effectively delivered on the ground. They have a division working on crime and drugs in the capital.

The Greater London Authority and London Assembly are responsible for policing in London. They set the budget for the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) and are responsible for developing crime strategies for London.

The London Criminal Justice Board brings together all the key criminal justice agencies in London to work towards bringing more offenders to justice and increasing Londoners’ confidence in the criminal justice system.

The Probation Service in London deals with offenders from their first court appearance to the completion of sentences. Their aim is to reduce re-offending and to protect the public.

The Met are the largest police force operating in Greater London. Since 2000, they have been accountable to the newly formed Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA).
