Victim Support London provides a comprehensive programme of courses to support volunteers in their work - both within Victim Support Schemes and the Witness Service. Our team of Training Officers together with Associate Trainers design and deliver this programme throughout the year. This year we will be delivering over 50 courses to Victim Support and Witness Service volunteers.

Victim Support London runs specialised courses to help raise awareness of those whose work brings them into contact with people affected by traumatic events including sexual or domestic violence, racism or homophobia.
In the past year we have delivered courses to organisations such as the Metropolitan Police, British Transport Police, London Probation and community groups.
Victim Support London draws from over 30 years of front line experience in supporting people affected by traumatic events and delivers top quality training for a variety of agencies.
Those who have attended our courses have found increased confidence in:
• Understanding the emotional and physical impact of trauma
• Identifying factors affecting recovery
• Separating myths from reality on the impact of violence
• Working with the psychology of abusive relationships
• Managing difficult emotions (others’ and one’s own)
• Selecting support methods that work best for their clients
• Demonstrating empathic listening skills
• Dealing with personal issues that may arise
The courses can be run in-house, or at our own modern training suite located in a prime City of London position close to Liverpool Street Station and tube networks.
Courses can be tailor-made to meet specific requirements. Costs are negotiable depending on the volume of training and the design.
For more information and/or to discuss your training needs please contact the Training Manager
